The Attic in Mission Bay, Auckland opened it's red door to the public on the 26th June 2009.

Previously the site had been a multitude of different themed restaurants but none truly suited the area or the local clientele.

To say the place needed renovating would be an understatement. It had the perfect positioning with some of the best views in Auckland but resembled something out of the 1980's!

Testament to this was the requirement of 7 great friends for 34 hours and 14 waste disposal trucks to demolish the existing set up before building work could commence.

The intention was to be able to cater for all occasions,whether it be for a drink, bar snacks, brunch or a gourmet bistro style meal,so it was imperative that the design and build incorporated dedicated individual areas that compliment each other.

After numerous discussions, various design ideas and a great deal of hard work from close friends, the Attic was built with a bar area, dining room, outside decks for summer and a cosy lounge with a fireplace for those winter nights. It's truly a venue that manages to make you feel at home whatever the time of day or season.

Add to that the amazing food,a fine selection of tap beer, wines, cocktails, and friendly service and you have what Mission Bay needed, a local for locals, that place that you feel comfortable in whether your a local or not.
