The Attic Bar & Restaurant in Mission Bay opened it’s red door to the public on the 26th June 2009.
Previously the site had been a multitude of different themed restaurants but none truly suited the area or the local clientele.
At last Mission Bay had an up market, quality Bar and Restaurant where locals, tourists and the many Aucklanders who come to Mission Bay could go for a drink and meal with service and food that is not generally found outside the central city.
The Attic was a step above anything else in Mission Bay. While it is casual, this is not the place to come for pizza or fast food. There are many Italian and other ethnic restaurants in Mission Bay that do this well. While we have sport playing often on our screens, we are also not a sports bar. We call ourselves a GastroPub. Food is as important to us, if not more so, as drinking. We provide full table service and a menu that reflects the high expectations of our owner and chef. Our food is New Zealand – we provide meals that are healthy and will satisfy made with the very best of local ingredients. Our beer, wine and other beverages also reflect the best New Zealand has to offer.
The Attic has a number of distinct areas for whatever style of dining and drinking you prefer. There is a bar area, dining room, outside decks for summer and a cosy lounge with a fireplace for those winter nights. It’s truly a venue that manages to make you feel at home whatever the time of day or season.Add to that the amazing food,a fine selection of tap beer, wines, cocktails, and friendly service and you have what Mission Bay needed, a local for locals, that place that you feel comfortable in whether your a local or not.
